English IIH- Week 2 (Aug. 3 – Aug. 7)

Good Morning, Roadrunners and Happy Friday!

What a great first (full) week back! These kids are resilient and ready to learn. Even though we have a screen between us, I can still feel the excitement and passion from them. I look forward to the day when we will be back together in the classroom.

This week we worked on getting to know each other a little more. We also worked on our email etiquette; we read some poor emails and wrote some great (hopefully) emails. We finished the week by doing some small assessments. With summer slump and the Covid slump it is important that I understand where these kids are at educationally. Next week we will head off into deeper waters.

As a reminder, please log in to your class session with your camera turned on and your mic turned off. Treat this like a regular class; that means get dressed, get out of bed, grab a snack, a charged computer and be ready to go. We need to establish a solid routine and this is the first step in doing that.
