English II-H > Week 13

Happy Friday!

This was a highly productive week in class. Students are nearing the final stages of their Annotated Bibliographies for the Cultural Fair. They should all have a minimum of five sources. Three of them must have a complete MLA citation, a summary, an evaluation of each source and a short reflection. This week was the last week where ample class time was provided for them to work on this. We will touch base next week, but the remaining two sources will need to be completed on their own time. This assignment is worth 100 points, so please check in with your student to make sure they are on top of everything.

Towards the end of this week we began our next unit on ​To Kill a Mockingbird​. Traditionally this is taught during 9th grade, but they were unable to get to it last year and it is a must read before leaving high school. I really think they are going to love this book. I have copies available for them, but if you want to purchase your own, that is fine too. For those of you online, I will be putting a copy at the front desk for you today. Please come and get it at your earliest convenience.
