Happy Friday, Roadrunner Families!

I hope this Halloween Eve finds you all happy and healthy! We have a rare blue moon tomorrow night, so make sure to check it out!

We had to back peddle a bit this week and return to working on our Cultural Fair Annotated Bibliographies. Many students were falling behind, so a revisit and refocus were necessary in order for us to be successful. Students have until 8am Sunday to get this assignment turned in and I know they can do it! Please encourage them to try their hardest. Here are a few other things we’ve been working on…

We did a rhetorical analysis on Frederick Douglass’ speech “What to a Slave is the Fourth of July?” and put together a working thesis. This week has been a test of everything they have learned so far this year. It is nice to see how much they have grown. We will continue to analyze more next week in preparation for an upcoming essay. Fun stuff happening here. I am loving seeing how these kids are interpreting these challenging, highly important texts.
