Good Morning, Roadrunners and Happy Friday!

What a great first week back! These kids are resilient and ready to learn. Even though we have a screen between us, I can still feel the excitement and passion from them. I look forward to the day when we will be back together in the classroom.

This week we worked on getting to know each other a little more. We did a fun exercise with cereal boxes and rhetoric; this served as a quick intro into the rhetorical situation. I think they all had a blast working on this. Check in and see what they found out about their favorite and not so favorite cereals.  With summer slump and the Covid slump it is important that I understand where these kids are at educationally. We finished off the week taking some short assessments. Next week we will head off into deeper waters.

As a reminder, please log in to your class session with your camera turned on and your mic turned off. Treat this like a regular class; that means get dressed, get out of bed, grab a snack, a charged computer and be ready to go. We need to establish a solid routine and this is the first step in doing that.
