DE/AP Language > Week 5
Good Afternoon, Roadrunners and Happy Friday!
This has been a crazy week. With MAP testing finishing out the week and hybrid learning starting up next week things have been moving quickly. We are all excited to have students back on campus. Just remember to be safe and stay home if you are sick. I attached a video made by our Student Council team. Please take a moment to view it.
This was a short week for us, but we still managed to take on new content. Every good argument or discussion requires evidence of some sort. So this week we began looking at the various types of evidence used within essays, reviews, even the news. We looked at and analyzed varying types of evidence and then we put ourselves to the test, to see if we could incorporate evidence to prove a point. If there is anything these kids like, it’s an argument. They are quite good at it, but can they back it up!? Be warned. They might have some new ammo when it comes to asking for a raise or to stay out later. Sorry…I think. 🙂
Next week, we will make the transition into hybrid learning, so there will be students physically in class and online. I have an idea of how this is going to work, but I am sure there will be some kinks I need to work out. Please remind students to show a little grace this coming week as we are all learning what this new process looks like. I know that my top priority is your students learning, but also their well-being. I will do what I can to teach them in a safe environment.
I don’t have much else for you at this point. We are in need of clorox wipes though. I know these are really hard to come by, but if you stumble across some please consider grabbing some for your kiddos classroom.
Have an amazing weekend!
Best,
Ms. K
