Mythology: January 21-24

Hello, Roadrunners.

We are currently tackling The Hero’s Journey and the many variations of it. After a brief overview of the structure, students were asked to complete a presentation on a movie of their choosing showing the Hero’s Journey in action. I am so impressed with how well they took this challenge on. Believe it or not, many stories/movies follow a very similar structure. Yesterday we looked at a different version of the Hero’s Journey and next week we will look at the many archetypes. My plan is for us to read a novel as a class, while looking for all these things we have been discussing an learning about. They seemed excited about this new “journey”.
