Week 2- English IV

Good Morning, Roadrunners and Happy Friday!

What a great first week back! These kids are resilient and ready to learn. Even though we have a screen between us, I can still feel the excitement and passion from them. I look forward to the day when we will be back together in the classroom.

This week we worked on getting to know each other a little more. We did a crash course in the varying Literary Theories/Lenses. This concept is really important for these kids to understand as we will be returning to it throughout the school year. Check in with them to make sure they have a good understanding, even if it’s simply superficial at this point.  With summer slump and the Covid slump it is important that I understand where these kids are at educationally. We finished off the week taking some short assessments. Next week we will head off into deeper waters.

As a reminder, please log in to your class session with your camera turned on and your mic turned off. Treat this like a regular class; that means get dressed, get out of bed, grab a snack, a charged computer and be ready to go. We need to establish a solid routine and this is the first step in doing that.
