Kovach’s Weekly Announcements > Week 32
Happy Sunday!
I’m a few days late on sending this, so my apologies. I have spent the weekend moving my kids and I to a new place. Thank goodness the weather was nice for us.
This last week we worked on the following:
English IV: We are wrapping up our intro to poetry analysis and will start our Romantic poetry next. They are all ecstatic (insert sarcasm), but it will be short and sweet. I am still in need of books for the class for the upcoming Dystopian Book Club. Please check out my Amazon wish list to chip in. Thank you to those parents who have already contributed. I appreciate you!!!
English III: We read a short piece by Amy Tan and are now in the middle of their own creative writing piece. Please remind your students how important it is to do their work on time and to the best of their ability. Any questions should be asked immediately.
English II-Honors: After doing a bit more research on the time period leading up to the Holocaust, we learned a bit more about Elie Wiesel, and finally started reading. This is a short book, but it is very heavy to read. We will be moving slowly.
English AP/DE: We are wrapping up our Synthesis unit and students are working on their synthesis essays. Their rough draft is due Tuesday at the start of class. Please check in to make sure they are on track.
Next week is a short week, due to Easter. There will be No School Friday, April 2nd and Monday, April 5th.
I believe that is everything for now. I will be out again on Monday and back in the classroom on Tuesday. Remind your student to be courteous to the sub and stay on task.
Have a great rest of your weekend.
Best, Ms. Kovach
