English W/Kovach > Week 34
Happy Friday!
Another busy week is behind us and the end of the school year looms even closer. As you may have read in the Tauscher Times we are having a paper drive competition between the two campuses and of course the winning teacher gets a $100 gift card for their classroom. I don’t know about you, but books are expensive, so having that gift card would go a long way. Please feel free to donate as many reams of paper you can…just make sure to put my name on them. 😉
See below for what we’ve been up to.
English IV: We are wading through British Literature and the water has been murky. I’m going to guess that this group is ready to get started on their Dystopian Novel Unit. Please remember that they need to purchase or come and pick up their novel by the middle of next week.
English III: We had some fun this week with our last reading, “The Most Dangerous Game”. We did some Simile Wrangling and finished out the week by exploring creative options to wrap up this story. I’m so impressed with what I’m seeing already.
English II-Honors: This group had AZ Merit testing most of the week, so we kept it light. We worked on a Found Poem and then watched an interview between Elie Wiesel and Oprah Winfrey.
English AP/DE: Book Clubs Assemble!! We met our group mates, set our ground rules, had our first brief discussion and set a reading schedule. So proud of this group and I’m eager to see where their discussions go.
That is everything for now. I hope you all have an amazing weekend.
Best,
Ms. Kovach
