English w/Kovach > Week 11
Happy Friday, Roadrunners!
What a week we had! I was out on Monday, so the kids had subs and then Wednesday through Friday a good majority of students were at Tonto Creek for the Gifted Camp. Tonight is Senior Night for both Volleyball and Football. Come out and support our kids. Please see below for further info on your student’s class:
English I-Honors: We had our Socratic Seminar and it went amazingly well. For never having done this before they did great. I look forward to doing many more.
English III: We spent a few days working on an excerpt from The Scarlet Letter. Next week we look at the Salem Witch Trials.
English IV: We finally wrapped up our discussion on Beowulf and will move on in our unit next week. We will be looking at the story from the monster’s perspective.
AP English Literature: We tied up any loose ends on our One-Pagers and began our unit on Poetry. We took a pause mid week for all the campers and worked on creating Blackout Poems based on the novels they read over break.
This week we spent time reflecting and thinking about our Mental Health. We took a day on Wednesday to work on a project that I am hoping will “Litter the halls with Positivity”. Please have an amazing weekend.
Best,
Ms. Kovach
