English III > Week 16

Happy Friday!

Having a day off mid week certainly threw me off; I felt like yesterday was Monday all day and then suddenly today is Friday. Thank goodness the weekend is here to get me recalibrated.

2nd period: We continued reading ​​The Crucible ​this week and are almost done with Act 1. This reading has been a challenge for this class. I am asking that you speak with your student about proper behavior in class and showing respect to their peers and to me. We have not been able to read this play out loud and discuss it due to so many inappropriate comments and poor attitudes. I am hoping a relaxing weekend will help us all and we can try again on Monday. I will start asking students to leave and do their reading elsewhere if they inhibit the learning environment. This is a play and plays are meant to be read aloud and discussed accordingly, but we have not been able to do much of this. Monday is a fresh start!

7th period: We continued reading ​​The Crucible ​this week and are almost done with Act 1. I a very impressed with this class and how mature they are behaving with more sensitive type content. Students are taking on roles in the classroom and virtually and it is working out great. I am seeing some enjoyment coming from them and how “into” their roles they are getting. This has been great so far. Thank you.
