Hello Roadrunners!

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and the amazing weather that came along with it.  I certainly enjoyed getting a little Vitamin D!

Wow! Last week flew by super fast. Or maybe it was simply the quick reading we did of The Metamorphosis that made it seem that way. Despite the speed at which we had to read and discuss this novella, they really seemed to enjoy this text. We had some amazing discussions and a fantastic Socratic Seminar to close it out. I could not be prouder at how deep this group of students are starting to think. They are also in week 6 of their vocabulary and are thriving. Great job supporting them at home!

This week we begin our work on Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest. We are going to spend roughly 7 days on this text, so there will be a bit more time to breath. We discussed Oscar Wilde today and reviewed the main tenants of the Victorian Era. This is a more lighthearted text and after reading existential literature, I know they are ready for a good laugh.

We are also completing our Spring ILPs this week in preparation for conferences coming up in a few short weeks. Info on that will be sent out soon I am sure.

I have nothing else to report, but if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Have an amazing week!

Mrs. Amber Kovach
