Week 7: May 11 – May 15
Happy Monday!
I want to first say Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there. You are truly amazing and I hope you were absolutely spoiled this weekend! You deserve it.
This is a longer email than usual, so bear with me.
It is hard to believe that this is the week before finals. I’m not sure if it flew by or if it came upon me slowly; it has all been a crazy journey. I want to thank everyone for all your patience as we have adjusted to a new world of teaching, learning, and living. I want to also say how disappointing the turn-in rate was last week. Out of 118 students, I only had 27 students participate! That is super scary and I am a bit worried about what next year’s learning is going to look like. If you child is unable to participate in class, please make sure they are at least reading every day! It doesn’t matter if they are reading a newspaper, a novel, or a play, so long as they are reading something. No, this does not include their Snap Chat feed, their Instagram accounts, or whatever social media they might have. Help me out by encouraging this as we head into summer and throughout summer!
Okay, so next week is finals, and you are probably wondering what that is going to look like. I am only going to test students on what they learned during Quarter 3, so regardless of whether or not they have done any of the home based instruction/lessons they should be successful if they paid attention last quarter! 🙂 Now is the time to get that grade you always wanted!! Keep it up.
All assignments are due by May 18th! I will not accept any late work after this date (from Quarter 4). The final exam will be available by this coming Friday, the 15th, so that you have plenty of time to work on it. Your final must be completed by midnight on Wednesday, May 20th! This is why we are opening it up on the 15th, so that you have the weekend if needed!
Final note: if your child needs to retake any of their core classes (English, Math, etc.) we are offering summer school. It will be 100% online. If you are interested, please reach out to the front office staff.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thanks for reading this entire email; it was a long one.
Best,
Ms. Kovach
