February 10-14 (English III)

Happy  Monday!

Last week we finished reading The Crucible and discussed the overall significance of the play. Students were asked to write either a eulogy or an elegy to prepare for our “funeral” of main character, John Proctor. We also worked on a final project to close out this unit. I hope your student found this unit as enjoyable as I did.

Tomorrow we will begin our discussion of Modernism in preparation for reading The Great Gatsby. We will not be reading this entire book in class, so please make sure they are reading the assigned chapters every night. All reading should be done prior to class. Here is a brief rundown for this week:

Wed. 02/12: Books will be checked out to students. They may not write in these, but they are allowed to go home.

Thur. 02/13: Finish reading Chapter 1 prior to class. Reading quiz.

Fri. 02/14: Finish reading Chapter 2 prior to class. Reading quiz.

Mon. 02/17: NO SCHOOL
