Week 24 Update

In AP English Literature, English I Honors, English III, English IV

Happy Sunday, Roadrunners!

Last week was a busy week and we worked hard to make sure everyone was on track. With the Science Fair on Wednesday and Stem Fest on Friday, the campus was a buzz all week. Please remind your students to come to class prepared…writing utensils, paper, a charged computer, charger, etc. Please also remind them to practice kindness every day and to treat each other with dignity and respect.

Please see below for what each class was working on:

English IV: We finished writing our own proposals to real word concerns and they had to put a satirical spin on it. We then read a brief excerpt from Gulliver’s Travels.

English III: We spent the week discussing themes in writing, read short story “Thank You, Ma’am” and finished by writing an introductory paragraph putting it all together. These were really rough. Our lessons might take a slight detour while we work on our writing skills.

English I-Honors: We finished part 1 of our book and are near 3/4 complete now, after this weekends read. Students learned a valuable lesson this week in being prepared for class. Hopefully it stuck with them and everyone will come to class tomorrow prepared.

AP Literature: This has been a heavy week for this group and we are almost done with our second prose unit. There has been a lot of reading, and a lot of writing. I’m impressed with how well they are keeping up.

I believe that is everything for now. As always, don’t hesitate to reach out should you have any questions.

Best,

Ms. Kovach
