Week 23 Update

In AP English Literature, English I Honors, English III, English IV

Happy Monday, Roadrunners.

My apologies for getting this out late; better late than never, I suppose.

It was great to see most of the kids back on campus last week and I believe we had all of our teachers back. 🙂

Please see below for what we’ve been doing:

English IV: We finished reading and discussing “A Modest Proposal” and began brainstorming potential topics for their own proposals. There were some interesting ideas floating around. They have to incorporate satire in their proposal as well. Should be fun.

English III: We finally finished our discussion of “The Fall of the House of Usher” and boy that was a challenge to get through. We all made it though. We then discussed the Storytelling Arc in preparation for a Short Story unit.

English I-Honors: We read and discussed Chapters 5-8 in A Walk in the Woods. We also took part in an ACT practice test.

AP Literature: We had one final discussion regarding The Metamorphosis and began our second unit on Prose. This is going to move quickly and require a great deal of self-motivation from each student.

I believe that is everything for now. We have the Science Fair and Stem Fest this week. We are in need of judges for the Science Fair. Come on down to campus on Friday to watch what these kids have been working on.

Have a great week!

Best,

Ms. Kovach
